words and blogs

After I did my first blog posting I got to thinking about why I had started this. I have never been a writer of any kind. But maybe it is time to develop a little creativity to get the brain working. Computer charting, etc. just doesn't make for great writing skills.
A number of years ago when I briefly considered going back to school, writing papers was one of the biggest deterrents. I think then it was research I was most concerned about. Now I realize my writing has gotten very rusty.
Well here's to changing that!
By the way, the picture has no particular significance, except you might say it is the little flower that could.

Vacation

I have just had two weeks away from work. A nice relaxing time, I didn't even stress about getting things done. I go back to work tonight and work most of the holiday weekend.
Less than two months away is our great escape to Cedar Campus. I am really looking froward to this wonderful time and place for retreat, socialising, relaxation, and renewal. We have many friends we look froward to seeing every year.
This is a section away from the main camp known as Narnia. When Christie and I watched Prince Caspian early this week we remarked that a couple scenes look just like this area. I t is a bit of a hike there and I have not gone in a while but perhaps I'll get inspired this year.
There will bee more fitness activities at Cedar this year thanks to our dear friend Dave. Dave is a recent running enthusiast after loosing over 100 pounds. He cites Mark as one of his weight loss inspirations. He has organized several races and walks for the camp. See the Cedar campus race site @ http://cc10k.blogspot.com I may walk the short race and/or volunteer. but that is nearly two moths away. Wish It were sooner.

Sunshine and Lillies

I have been working in the yard/flower garden lately and longing for light and warmth from the sun. While outside walking in this cool gray morning, a few minutes of sunshine was quite a tease. But the cool weather has helped prolong the beauty of the flowering trees, and even the tulips.
Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil or spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these Luke 12:27
I have one lilly in blossom and half a dozen more growing.
I love the many promises of spring!
Shalom,
Carol
